Oracle technology offers database security options that can be used to provide a comprehensive set of security solutions to ensure data privacy, protect against insider threats, and enable regulatory compliance. With Oracle's powerful multi-factor access control, data classification, transparent data encryption, auditing, monitoring, and data masking, partners can create reliable data security solutions that do not require any changes to existing applications, providing a source of value and additional features. The Oracle Database 11g Security Options Implementation Boot Camp covers business drivers for increased security capabilities as well as their implementation, and will equip partner implementation personnel with the knowledge and experience to promote database security options.
The Oracle Database 11g Security Options Implementation Boot Camp covers the four main options used to enhance security for Oracle 11g, options that can provide increased functionality for partner solutions, avoiding the risk of data compromise and helping to adhere to compliance regulations. Database security options allow a partner to add capabilities to their solutions without requiring extensive modification to the solution. Partners can improve their solution while meeting crucial security demands of their clients.
The course is delivered as a two-day in person training class format as well as a live web training class format which spans over four sessions of three hours each.
This boot camp will cover:
- Advanced Security Option, for transparent data encryption and key management
- Database Vault, for separation of duties and highly granular access restrictions
- Audit Vault, for comprehensive monitoring of both Oracle and non-Oracle data sources
- The Enterprise Manager Data Masking pack, for fine tuning control over sensitive data.
Attendees will come to understand the drivers behind the need for increased security in their solutions, how these four options address those needs and how these advanced security options can help their solution business. The course will also cover specific implementation techniques and provide an understanding of issues facing implementers. Attendees will also get hands-on experience using the options.
Students should come to class already familiar with Oracle database administration and basic Oracle security capabilities.
At the conclusion of the course, attendees should be able to understand and successfully implement Oracle’s database security options, as well as understand how to integrate these options with their own solutions.
The audience for this course is implementation consultants, who require an understanding of product capabilities as well as implementation skills.
In-depth familiarity with Oracle’s standard security mechanisms, including privileges and auditing. Involvement with at least 5 customer security scenarios. Some familiarity with Enterprise Manager preferred.
Throughout this training, you will come to understand how the Oracle Database 11g Security Options can provide additional capabilities for your solutions, as well as how to use these options in those solutions:
Advanced Security Option – In-depth coverage of the ASO option for Oracle Enterprise Edition, including details of implementation and hands-on labs.
Database Vault – In-depth coverage of the capabilities of the Database Vault option, including the use of realms, factors and implementing separation of duties, including hands-on labs.
Audit Vault – In-depth coverage of the capabilities of the Audit Vault option, including the overall capabilities of the Audit Vault, using Audit Vault with non-Oracle databases, and hands-on labs.
Data Masking – In-depth coverage of the Data Masking pack for Enterprise Manager, including example scenarios for masking and cloning and hands-on labs.
The course starts at 10:00 a.m.
